Should I sell the raw crop?
Only if you cannot run a machine yet. The workshop text is built around processing crops into goods, then selling those.
Beginner guide
Clear the yard, plant, process one good, put it on a counter, finish an order.
Updated

You take over a ruined alchemy workshop and the abandoned plot behind it. Money comes from goods on the counter and from customer orders, not from standing in the story.
While a crop is growing, clear weeds and rocks. That empty ground is where the machines go. A machine turns a raw crop into something you can sell for more than the plant itself.
Till and sow first. Harvest. Feed one machine. Move the result onto a counter that accepts that kind of good. Crops, potions, and curiosities do not share one shelf type.
Take the order on the board once you can fill it. Orders are the fast cash. Faction favors and heroine scenes can wait until the counter is not empty.
Raising the workshop unlocks more counters, more machines, and new recipes. Residents also walk in with their own requests. Those requests are how friendship starts. They are not a substitute for stock.
Sissi is the first full-time hire in the store text, and her work is farming. Hand her the field once planting is something you are doing every day.
Do not copy the demo folder into the full game. A player did that, saw the save in the list, and got a black screen on load. In the launch-announcement thread, the reply from the studio side is that demo saves do not carry over. That note is in the discussion, not in the announcement body.

Nobody in the Game length thread has posted a clear time. Reviews in the first two days sit around 2 to 12 hours, with one outlier over 100. That spread is people still in the shop, not a finished route.
There is no chapter list on the store page. Play until the faction orders show up, then decide if you are pushing a route.
Seeds depleted: you have seeds in the bag and still cannot sow. Open the seed queue and set both the type and the amount. The seeds guide has the click path.
No alchemical sediment for the next Peoplesprout: balanced alchemy does not drop it. You have to miss on purpose past the safe range. The sediment guide has the herb set players used.
