Seeds Depleted
The queue fix for farmers who will not sow.
Seed shop
Two seed names, two shop names, and one Silver Key prerequisite that is not published.
Updated

Seeds depleted is a queue problem: the bag is full and the farmer has no seed type or amount set. That is the seeds guide, and it does not cover where a seed comes from.
This page covers the other failure: you need to buy a seed, or a quest step asks you to trade with Silver Key, and the shop is not on screen. Buying and queueing are separate systems. Fixing one does not fix the other.
If you cannot sow, stop here and set the queue. If you can sow but cannot find the seed or the trader, read on. The two pages are deliberately split so a search for either problem lands on the right fix.
The seed inventory screenshot on this site shows a Potato Seed tooltip with two useful lines: the seed matures in 2 hours in a suitable environment, and its source is Purchased at the General Store. That is a UI label from the captured build, not a promise that every build prints the same words. It does confirm that seeds are bought from a store.
Version 1.0.5 made the seed shop show how much produce each seed gives. 1.0.7 extended the same information to seed interfaces, planting guide signs, and Humanwood sowing queues, and split hybrid seeds that have different base seeds. A current build should show the produce amount in the shop and in the planting queue. If that line is missing, the build predates 1.0.7.
The purchase window is not a sales counter. Stocking a shelf sells goods; buying a seed is a merchant transaction. 1.0.7 added Quick Purchase to merchants so several items can be bought without reopening the window. That button is a useful build check: a merchant window without it predates 1.0.7 or does not include the change.
The seed line appears under two names: Raintear and Raincry. Guides and screenshots disagree because they were written against different builds. This site has not confirmed the patch where the label changed; its patch log starts at 1.0.5, and the 1.0.3 note is not reproduced on the updates page.
The practical rule is to search the shop for both strings before concluding the seed is absent. Match the icon and the produce line, not the first letter of the name. If a guide says Raintear and your UI says Raincry, you are probably looking at the same shelf.
Do not treat the name difference as a missing item. The likely failure is a player searching one string, seeing nothing, and assuming the stock was removed. The second name is the cheapest thing to check.
| Label | What it is | Confirmed here |
|---|---|---|
| Raintear Seeds | One build's name for the seed line | Name reported; exact build not confirmed |
| Raincry Seeds | The other name for the same line | Name reported; exact build not confirmed |
The shop has the same split: Stella's Store in some material, Star-Snow Shop in others. Neither name is confirmed here as the current label, and the patch boundary is not published in the notes this site recorded.
The screenshot on this page prints General Store as the seed source. That is a third label, from the captured build. Whether it is the same counter as Stella's Store is not confirmed; treat it as the label that build used.
What to do is boring and effective: read the sign or window title in your own build, then compare versions. A screenshot from a different build is not evidence that your shop is missing. It is evidence that the label moved.
| Label you may see | Where it appears | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Raintear Seeds | Seed listings and guides | Naming variant; patch boundary unverified |
| Raincry Seeds | Seed listings and guides | Naming variant; patch boundary unverified |
| Stella's Store | Shop label in some material | Naming variant; patch boundary unverified |
| Star-Snow Shop | Shop label in other material | Naming variant; patch boundary unverified |
| General Store | Seed tooltip in this site's screenshot | Observed in that build only |
The active report is specific: a quest step asks the player to trade with Silver Key, and no shop appears. The thread title is 'no silver key shop showing up'. That is a report, not a confirmed bug with a known trigger.
What is confirmed: the report exists and is current. What is not: the unlock condition, the map prerequisite, the stock, the price, or a patch note that names Silver Key. None of the notes recorded on this site through 1.0.12 mention it.
Any prerequisite that puts the Silver Key shop on the map is the field this page leaves blank. Do not fill it from a comment. A wrong prerequisite sends you across the map for a whole loop and teaches you nothing about the actual gate.
If the quest step is already active for you, the safe sequence is: finish the current loop's shop work, save manually, then test the step. Do not delete the save to reroll the quest.
| Question | Answer on this page |
|---|---|
| Where is the Silver Key shop? | Not confirmed. The report says the shop does not appear. |
| What unlocks it? | Not published. Left blank. |
| What is the map prerequisite? | Not confirmed. Left blank. |
| Does a patch fix it? | No note recorded here through 1.0.12 names Silver Key. |
| Is it the seed shop? | Not confirmed. The two are kept separate. |
Version 1.0.12 is the newest note recorded here. 1.0.5 added seed-shop produce amounts, 1.0.7 added merchant Quick Purchase and seed produce lines, and 1.0.8 added a quest pop-up after faction story events. If your window lacks those, you are on an older build and the shop UI may not match any current screenshot.
Updating is worth doing for the seed shop. It is not a confirmed fix for Silver Key: no note in the recorded range names it. Do not update expecting that specific shop to appear, and do not treat a missing shop as proof that the feature was cut.
After updating, recheck the same save before starting a new one. If the shop appears, the build was the variable. If it does not, the trigger is still unknown.
A useful report narrows the variable. The list below is what a reader needs to compare your case with theirs. It is also what this page will use if a future note or observed frame explains the trigger.
No price, no stock list, no restock timer, no unlock level, no map coordinate. None of those are confirmed by the sources this page uses, and a fan page that fills them from comments is how players lose a loop.
The page will be updated when a note or an observed frame supplies the trigger. Until then, the blank is the honest answer. For the queue problem, use the seeds guide. For the field itself, use the crops page. For what the counter does with the harvest, use the alchemy shop page.
FAQ
From the seed store. This site's seed tooltip names the General Store; other material uses Stella's Store or Star-Snow Shop. Check which label your build prints.
Reported but not explained. No unlock condition, map prerequisite, or patch fix is published in the sources recorded here.
The two names describe the same seed line in different builds. The exact patch that changed the label is not confirmed here.
Not confirmed here. The patch log on this site starts at 1.0.5, and the 1.0.3 note is not reproduced, so no version boundary is claimed.
